the breakfast club, st albans

 I co-founded The Breakfast Club in 2004 with my sister. We created something new and different in St Albans where we grew up. At the time there were only greasy spoon cafes, and nowhere you could get a healthy breakfast. The Breakfast Club promised only locally sourced, seasonal produce and Fair Trade goods. We were making fresh smoothies and cold press juices before the high street clocked on to this health trend. We gutted and renovated an old Italian restaurant and created a successful, thriving business. I worked on the brand from scratch, looking after all the design, marketing as well as all the interior design/styling from sourcing chairs and reclaimed wooden bar tops to hand painting the open and closed sign. We owned The Breakfast Club for 8 years before we sold it. The foundation we built meant it continued to flourish. (The Breakfast Club website is not my creation!)
